What are the different studio lights that photographer may use?

LED lights (Light-Emitting Diode) provide us with Low-key lighting is often used for more serious, dramatic, or narrative videos. With its moody, dark tones, low-key lighting is effective for drawing attention to serious subject matter, or the darker, emotional side to the story.

A Soft box is used for softening and diffusing light sources. A soft box controls the shape and direction of light.

What are the different types of lighting effects?

  • Expressive lighting is used when the director uses light to set a mood or tone for a scene or even a look to a whole film.

  • High key photography is a style of photography that uses unusually bright lighting to reduce or completely blow out dark shadows in the image.

  • A low-key image is one that contains predominantly dark tones and colors.

  • Bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in out-of-focus parts of an image.

  • A silhouette is the image of a person, animal, object or scene represented as a solid shape of a single colour, usually black, with its edges matching the outline of the subject.

  • Long exposure photography is one of the most fascinating genres and it will get you forever hooked on photography.
