(I'm referring to the CGI/Stop Motion films!)

Before there was CGI and Stop Motion films, there were Drawing films like "Yellow Submarine", but they are not common as the CGI films and Stop Motion.

A CGI movie is when a film is mostly animated in 3D animation.

A stop motion movie is where you have to move the character slightly and take a picture for every frame.

CGI has been around since the 1970s, but it's true rise to its popularity is in 1996 with Toy Story by Disney and Pixar and Stop Motion has been popular since the 1980s with Wallace and Gromit by Aardman animations.

Stop motion animation could take a year or two if you are making a feature length/30-minute movie.

CGI could take a month or maybe more and it's always getting better and better, most of the time because sometimes a full CGI movie could receive negative reviews due to its awful CGI.

An Oscar award called "Best animated feature" was created and the first film to win the award was in 2002 with "Shrek" beating "Monsters Inc." and "Jimmy Neutron."

The characters can be anyone or anything either a toy (Like Toy Story), an Ogre (Like Shrek), a Chicken (Like Chicken Run) and even a gnome (Like Gnomeo and Juliet).

Warner Bros. has created stop motion films with their sister company, Warner Animation Group to make the LEGO Movie in 2014 which got a sequel in 2019.

CGI must be done on a computer as Stop Motion must be done with a camera.

A storyline can be good, and it must have a good flow to the story.

From 2004 to 2012, there was a thing that counts as CGI called Motion Capture or Mo-cap for short and has been popular with ImageMovers making films using Mocap like "The Polar Express", "Monster House" and "A Christmas Carol".

Other companies made stop motion like LAIKA with "Coraline" in 2009.

The themes of the CGI films/ Stop Motion could be fictional and could be a family movie, Comedy movie, Christmas movie or even a romance.
