Comedy genre

Comedy is a genre where the actors have to make the audience laugh with jokes.

Comedy is often part of the parody/spoof type of films where they make fun of the original films.

Comedy was most common in the UK in the 1990s like "Absolutely Fabulous", "Mr. Bean", "Blackadder", "The Royale Family", "Vicar of Dibley" and many other comedies.

The word comedy came from the Greek word "Komos" and the genre started in 425BC.

Everyone expected comedy to be funny, entertaining and good.

The most common comedy is usually in a performing theatre.

There are some comedians that have been very successful in films such as Charlie Chaplin and Jim Carey.
