Sci-Fi Genre

Science Fiction (or Sci-Fi for short) is a genre which typically deals with imaginative and futuristic concepts such as advanced science and Technology, Parallel universes, Extra Terrestrial life and space exploration.

Science Fiction is described as by Isaac Asimov "Science fiction can be defined as that branch of literature which deals with the reaction of human beings to changes in science and Technology"

Some common examples of Sci-Fi genre for a movie or TV show is "WALL-E", "Doctor Who", "2001 a space odyssey" and "Red Dwarf".

Science Fiction has been around since the 17th century.

There has been a channel called "Sci-fi" which aired in 1992, but by 2009 it was changed to "SYFY". (Spelled differently, but pronounced very similar.)

George Orwell's 1949 book "Nineteen Eighty Four" is an important work of dystopian science fiction as it is often invoked in protests against governments and leaders who are seen as totalitarian.

Usually when some people hear the term Sci-Fi they would think about aliens and spaceships (All that stuff...) because that's what you would sometimes expect in a sci-fi movie.
